This was an impromptu attendance for Ellis during one of her research trips, but she was grateful to be there for the spectacular performance by Doamnă Goicea.

Ellis attended the London Book Fair when her debut Awaken the Dawn received a nod from The Selfies. She was the only American author to shortlist in her category, which included Children's books, Middle Grade, and Young Adult novels.
